Operating expenses for this fiscal year totaled $11,593,420.

The following diagrams illustrate the source of income as well as expenditures by program. Administrative/Support services were 8% of the total expenses.

In addition to the resources listed below, the Center also enjoys the support of many corporate, foundation, and individual grants and donations. These funds supplement the other resources and make it possible to provide enhancements to programs and services.

Comprehensive Vocational Evaluation Services

  • 23 individuals participated in evaluation services this year

  • Individuals attended 97% of possible day

Employee Development

  • Four individuals received this service and worked on employment readiness skills

  • Individuals attended 94% of possible days

Organizational Employment

  • 71% to 89% of individuals achieved work skills, work behaviors, and work attitudes goals 

  • Individuals worked on subcontract work 58.5% of available hours

Employment Planning

  • 33 individuals participated in Job Club

  • Individuals attended 77% of Job Club meetings

  • Six people transferred to Community Employment

Community Employment Services

  • 55 individuals were employed in the community this year

  • 19 individuals were actively seeking employment in the community

  • 33 individuals rely on HDC to provide the majority of transportation

ICF/MR Residential Services

  • 92% of individuals made progress or maintained skills on therapy goals

  • 98% of individuals made progress or maintained skills on personal adjustment goals

  • 89% of individuals participated in activities in the community

Personal Independence Services

  • 98.5% of individuals participated in at least 1 community activity

  • 78% of individuals had the opportunity to complete paid work

  • Average daily attendance was 83%

  • Maintained enrollment of 91-93 participants

Community Living Services

  • CRS participants were involved in 3079 community activities

  • 98% of individuals served were satisfied with services

Respite Services

  • 96% of respite requests were accommodated

  • Of the 74 families served, 100% were satisfied with services

The Year's Highlights

Achievements

Participant Wages

Wages paid to participants at HDC in this fiscal year totaled $284,315.

 

Subcontract Income

Subcontract income from jobs completed in Employment Services reached an all-time high of $268,031.

 

DayHabilitation Services

The DayHab program, a non-work option for adults, added an off-site option that included participation by 19 individuals.

Volunteers

Booster Organization

Advocated for disability issues, raised community awareness, held parties for HDC participants, conducted fundraising activities to enhance programs and services.

 

HANDS Auxiliary

Conducted a successful golf outing and auction fundraiser, served cookies to participants, had Next-to-New Sales.

 

HDC Board

Provided direction and advice that launched the Capital Campaign, only the 3rd one in the Center's 38-year-history.

Grants Received

ALCOA Foundation

$8,000 for Screenprint equipment including a dryer and embroidery machine computer and software

 

Riverboat Development Authority (RDA)

$11,000 for Fire Code Updating at the Residential Center

 

Scott County Regional Authority (SCRA)

$7,900 for lawn care equipment

 

Scott County Housing Council

$3350 from RDA funds for carpet and appliances for group homes

$6085 from RDA funds for kitchen remodeling

$8250 from SCRA funds for a new boiler

$5000 for bathroom remodeling

 

Knights of Columbus

$7324 for physical therapy, recreation therapy, and workshop equipment, and wheelchair repairs.

 

Trinity Health Foundation

$1253 for two pulse oximeters

 

St. Vincent's Home Corporation

$1015 for "Knapsack of Knowledge" traveling educational kits for Respite Program
