Our Wish List

HDC Board GroundbreakingWe are often in need of various items throughout our programs in order to improve and enhance services. Below is a list of some of those needs:

Employment Services

Embroidery Hoops for Screenprint/Embroidery Department ... $250

Small fork truck ... $22,000

A small fork truck is needed to load and unload trucks. Supplies are unloaded and finished products are loaded at the loading dock numerous times throughout the work day.

Tabletop Bar Coding Autobagger ... $18,927

This bar coding and autobagger is a piece of equipment used to perform subcontract jobs in the HDC workshop. A computer is connected to the autobagger to add bar coding to the bag.

Updated Computers ... $400 each

With documentation requirements continually increasing, the Employment Services staff need new computers to meet the demands of the HDC regulators.

Personal Independence Services

Physical Therapy Mats... $175

More mats are needed to place on the floor for the comfort of individuals who receive physical therapy services.

Exercise Weights... $95

Individual hand weights of 1, 2, and 3 lbs. are needed for those who are involved in physical therapy exercises.

Residential Center

Wheelchair Repairs and Adaptations ... $300 to $500 each

Wheelchair adaptations are often needed as people grow or their medical conditions change. Wheelchair repairs are often necessary as wheelchairs age. The average cost of adaptations or repairs is $300 to $500 each.

Rowing Machine ... $450 each

For those people who do not have use of their lower extremities, exercising is a challenge. A rowing machine would be helpful for those individuals to increase their upper body strength.

Community Residential Services

Computers for Group Homes ... $400 each

The three HDC group homes are in need of computers to help with communication and documentation requirements.
